Phillips-Baird wants to ensure that our clients
are 100% satisfied. In addition to sending out Customer Satisfaction
Surveys, we hire an independent third party to obtain open feedback
from our clients. Here is what some of our clients have said:
“Joe helped us start
our system from scratch. He first educated us on the requirements of
ISO 14001 and then helped us through implementation. He had good visual
aids, PowerPoint presentations and documentation. By the end of the
training, everyone on our Implementation Team was on the same page and
we were able to meet our internal timeline for implementation. Other
companies advertise that they have software with standard documents
you can just fill out, but that doesn’t address getting all your
team members and managers on board.
Joe is a lead auditor for some of the registrars,
so he knows first hand what it takes to get registered. With his experience
and his boilerplate documents, we were able to quickly implement. He
also had a couple of lead auditor students who he brought down at the
end of our implementation to conduct a pre-audit of our system. I would
definitely recommend Joe to other companies.”
Greg Walts, Quality Manager
Hitachi Cable Indiana, Inc.
“Joe brought
a lot of experience to help us in the development of our quality and
environmental processes and procedures. He not only trained us, but
he guided us through the entire development using good practical examples.
One of the benefits of using Joe was his knowledge of the standards
and requirements and his interpretation of the document to help us integrate
our quality and environmental systems and come up with a very tailored
system. Without good development up front, it makes implementation very
hard. We were able to achieve registration within 10 months after starting
to work with Joe. I would definitely recommend him to other companies.”
Al Escoto, Environmental &
Quality Systems Manager
Epson America, Inc.
"We considered numerous potential candidates to assist us with the
implementation of ISO 14001:1996. Joe's credentials were excellent, and
his fees were reasonable. He made a complete presentation to our staff
regarding the implementation, savings and commitment needed to
successfully attain this environmental certification.
We were very pleased with the help we
received from Joe. His work went beyond the scope of work in his
contract and totally exceeded or expectations. Joe took this assignment
very personally. He became a team member.
Additionally, Joe was very professional.
He promptly returned my calls and/or e-mails from wherever he was.
Through his contacts at Purdue University, Joe saved us $3,000-$4,000 in
auditor's fees for the Preliminary Audit. During Stages 1 and 2, Joe
used his own time to guide us in our endeavor.
Therefore, if any of our other 35
divisions were to pursue ISO 14001:1996, I would highly recommend Joe,
because as a result of his input, we received recommendation to full
certification, on the first attempt.”
Damian Gurri, Quality Manager and EMR
Earle M. Jorgensen Company (EMJ-Indianapolis)
“We achieved our ISO 14001 certification in 9 months with the
excellent Environmental Management System Joe Phillips helped us develop
& implement. Our timeline seemed a little too ambitious to me, but Joe
Phillips assured me that with our company's level of commitment, we
would succeed.
Joe kept us on track by training our
environmental committee on every phase of ISO 14001 implementation and
by showing us how to take his programs and tailor them to our specific
needs. What we ended up with is a first rate EMS unique to our company
that is understood and supported by our Team Members at every level of
the organization.”
Charley Hardesty, Safety &
Environmental Specialist
Toyotomi America Corporation
“I had a strong ISO 9000 background, but Joe really brought a
strong knowledge of the environmental standard. You can have all the
high level talk you want, but Joe really had a thorough understanding
of the Tier 3 operating procedures – giving you the meat and potatoes
for your own backyard.
I really liked Joe’s experience and
demeanor in the classroom. When someone asked a question, he just didn’t
answer it. He had a way of asking the right questions to get the person
to think through it and come up with their own answer. I’ve been
around a lot of implementation guys who try to sell you their own formats
of the presentation, but Joe gave us the samples and let us create our
own world. It was absolutely 100% beneficial working with Joe.”
Jim Radford, Continuous Improvement
Facilitator
The Levy Company
“Joe was the 'whole deal.' He
came in and laid out and organized the whole process for us in a way
that was easy for even a novice to understand. He made the whole process
much less difficult that I had anticipated. He was always right there to
answer any questions I had. I would absolutely recommend Joe to other
companies.”
George Ramage, Manager of
Operations
Toyo Lex Industry Corporation.
“Joe helped guide out team step
by step, element by element through the entire implementation process.
His experience and knowing exactly what the registrars would be looking
for in their audits was extremely valuable I would definitely recommend
Joe's services to other companies going through the ISO 14001
registration process.”
Rich Puski, Safety &
Environmental Manager
Keihin Aircon North America, Inc..
“Joe took us from ground zero
through the entire process. He was very helpful in establishing aspects.
The two auditors we had for Stage 1 and 2 audits said they had never
seen more thorough evaluations for every product or problem. It took us
a little bit of extra time for implementation, because the person in our
company who was in charge of our ISO 14001 registration passed away, and
I was thrown into the process. I would call Joe frequently to ask
questions or bounce things off him. Joe was wonderful at putting us in
contact with people who had knowledge of the chemical industry to answer
my questions. Even though he had been paid, he continued to work with us
until we achieved registration. In fact I remember Joe saying, 'My job
is not done until you are registered'. If we would have used Joe's
services to achieve our QS-9000 registration, we would have save
thousands of dollars.”
Peggy Hicks, QS/ISO Manager
Yuma Industries, Inc.
“When I found out that we needed to be on a fast track to get
ISO 14001 registered in a very short time, my first thought was to call
a consultant. Our registrar from QS-9000 certification convinced me
to take the training first, so I’d have a thorough understanding
of the standard.
Going into the lead auditor training, I had
no previous ISO 14001 experience. I think it speaks a lot for Joe’s
training that I was able to take the training and then come back and
get MultiSeal registered within three months. Joe presented the material
in a way that was very simple and easy to understand. MultiSeal was
already QS-9000, and the training really made it clear how ISO 14001
blends in with other systems. It also helped that the other people taking
the class were very knowledgeable and I learned a lot through class
participation. Our major customers were very pleased and we saved the
company a lot of money.”
Bill Miller, Quality Director
MultiSeal, Inc.
“Joe conducted
a Lead Auditor Training course for some of our students, faculty of
Purdue’s Clean Manufacturing Technology and Safe Materials Institute
and some local manufacturing companies. It was a wonderful experience
for the students to be able to hear and learn about the environmental
challenges real companies are facing. Joe did an excellent job of simplifying
a very difficult subject and materials. By taking this training course,
our students will be able to set themselves apart from the other graduates
and hopefully obtain better jobs.”
Peggy Canales, Associate Professor
of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering
Indiana Institute of Technology
